How many places have you been to?
That seems to be a question you get asked a lot when travelling and the answer will almost always consist of a long list of far-flung, exotic countries.
It’s a crazy question though, usually with a crazy answer and here’s why:
I used to be guilty of this; I’d list all the destinations like the generation game conveyor belt - not cool. It’s great to show experience but still… I also used to say that I would put off travelling the UK until I was older, when I’d be time and money poor. However, since I started working at OS my lack of GB knowledge has become something of a badge of shame to me and I can’t believe I’ve neglected seeing my homeland for so long.
In the last couple of months though I’ve experienced more of Britain than I probably have done for most of my life, and I’ve loved it. Our country is beautiful. Our people, for the most part(!) are lovely. And, our weather makes it more interesting! So here’s why I think we should all try weekend breaks, trips and holidays in the UK:
So instead of going to your local travel agent and picking up brochures of places far away, why not have a look at some of the great places on offer to us in Britain. It’s a definite must-see location.
